![]() They dangled carrots in front of two other employees who were put into “stretch assignment roles” for over 2 months to prepare them for the ASM position - generally this leads to a promotion - but no - again, Lume after leading these employees on, made the decision to hire externally. Instead, the company went with an outside candidate. To not even get an opportunity to sit down to interview says everything - regardless of whether or not I were to have gotten the position. I have 10+ years of management experience - as high up as regional management where I oversaw 27 stores. When an assistant management position in my store became available I applied and was later told I wouldn’t even be getting an interview although I met all qualifications. The same people always seemed to work in the same places so there wasn’t a lot of fairness involved. Others are very high stress and a lot of hard work. Some of those areas are very laid back, stress free, and easy. On a typical day, you walk in and get assigned to the “area” or “responsibility” you’d be handling. Very little accountability for employees - some work really hard and give 110% while others, do as little as possible and get away with it. When feedback was given on how improvements could be made it fell on deaf ears. All of this lead to frequently disgruntled customers who took it out on the staff. ![]() Not enough staff to keep up with customer/traffic flow. Sadly feels like a cash grab with no real intent to grow the cannabis industry! ![]() As we all know the government does not mess around with Cannabis. Many things were just left up for discussion with no clear answer even though there are books on compliance. Lastly compliance with state regulations seems to be almost forgotten. the job culture just doesn't fit cannabis at all! It's focus on getting out big orders and pushing products makes it feel like a Walmart rather than a caring dispensary. Due to low staff, employees would have to put in extra hours or even take on responsibility of managers for months at a time with out getting compensated. Turnover rate is the highest of any jobs I have worked at! In my time at lume 25 people had left. Product knowledge is very lacking if none at all, sadly a lot the higher ups don't use product and just there for the money. polices would change without a noticed, higher ups would come help from other stores and try to undue what are managers had done only for another higher up to change it. Corporate seems to have poor communication. There is a huge disconnect between corporate and the average employees. I will say the benefits for working at lume are very nice but does not make up for the rest of the mess. Lume Cannabis Co.is a newer corporation with lots of issues and honestly just plain disrespectful to the cannabis industry. A dream to make a ridiculous paycheck, after trying the plant for their fist time now that it’s legal Truly the biggest issues are in the corporate offices, they have no knowledge of cannabis and the culture of it. This company only wants people who use on occasion. If you are looking to work here and have great knowledge go elsewhere. as well as the reward system they used was just a popularity contest. The management would play favorites for things. This was not a place with job security at all, let alone having type of logical management in place. Worked with over 70 employees who had been fired or quit. ![]() In the course of a year an a half, I had 4 different store managers. They are just regular luminaries that can be training a store manager. They train new employees wether they are just luminaries or store managers… also they do not get compensation for training them. Though now they have a team of (luminaries). Had no training what so ever, was given a tablet an told go basically.
